Handan was responsible for the implementation, quality assurance and monitoring of the financial, operational, administrative activities, mainly focusing on managing the allocation of project funds to the 23 countries to ensure the successful delivery of the project outcomes.
Handan has been working in the UNDP IRH since 2014 and previously worked in the Quality Assurance and Coordination Unit as Programme Assistant where she supported quality assurance and monitoring and worked in portfolios and projects Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, Global Energy, Gender, Governance and Peace Building, HIV Health and Development, ENVSEC Project, Climate Risk Mitigation (CRM) and Central Asia Regional Risk Assessment CARRA I Projects.
Before joining UNDP, she worked for several EU, World Bank and other international donor funded projects in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Cyprus. Handan holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from Bilkent University and a Master of International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution from Uppsala University.
