Capacity Building Training and Workshop on CBD, Nagoya Protocol and Traditional Knowledge in Myanmar

The UNDP-GEF Global ABS Project “Strengthening Human Resources, Legal Frameworks, and Institutional Capacities to Implement the Nagoya Protocol” organized the Training Workshop on Elevating the key Stakeholders’ Knowledge on the Nagoya Protocol on ABS between 10th and 11th June, 2019, in Naypyitaw, Myanmar.

The event intended to improve capacities of national competent authorities and related agencies on processing access applications and developing model contractual clauses under mutually agreed terms, including the negotiation and tracking of ABS agreements and biodiscovery projects to ensure compliance.

In this regard, the activity addressed 50 representatives from relevant government officials, consultants form UNDP, INGOs, NGOs and CSOs.
